UNM-Taos Library is gearing up for its annual Dia de Los Niños/Dia de Los Libros event which is a celebration of children, books and diversity. The celebration emphasizes the importance of advocating literacy for children of all linguistic and cultural backgrounds. Every year we try to team up with a different school in our community to celebrate this nationwide day of learning and sharing. This year we are celebrating Dia with our very own UNM-Taos Kid’s Campus and 7th graders from the The COOP, a private school in downtown Taos.
The theme for this year’s event is Earth Day, so we will be reading books about gardening followed by Earth-friendly activities for the kids. Dia will take place on Tuesday, May 7th from 9am-1pm at the UNM-Taos Kid’s Campus.
